I offer individual, couples and group training and advising
using a tool/process based on the work of Marshall
Rosenberg, international mediator and founder of
Non-Violent Communication (NVC). Around the world, NVC
has been adopted by Fortune 500 companies, government
offices, schools, hospitals, university MBA and
communication curriculum, community mediation centers,
anger management programs, inmate rehabilitation
programs and more.

While NVC is much more than a communication tool, the four
central components below provide a structural concept of the
process. The 4-step core process is:

1.  Objectively describing what is happening without using
evaluation, moralistic judgment, interpretation or diagnosis
2.  Clearly identifying how you feel (emotions and body
sensations) about what you have observed without
assigning blame, being defensive, analyzing or diagnosing
3.   Clearly identifying the basic human needs that are or are
not being met and which are the source of feelings
4.   Making a clear, positive, doable request for actions that
can meet needs.

I adapt training and advising services to meet your needs.
Advising for individuals or couples can be a single session
or multiple sessions. Group training can be a single
workshop or multiple, sequential workshops depending on
your needs.

My promise to you:

My business philosophy is
that creating and operating
a business is a strategy we
choose to meet our basic
human needs (core
values).

When we know, clearly,
what our needs are (along
with the needs of our
employees and
customers) and have the
process and language to
recognize those core
values we're more creative,
strategic, connected and
focused.

The state-of-mind that
comes with knowing our
core needs leads to a wide
range of positive personal
and organizational
outcomes.

I
wanted to thank you for
the NVC class.  Attending
the classes and
implementing the tools we
have learned has made a
HUGE impact on my life
and my relationship with
my husband.  I use to be
angry at my husband for a
week at a time, make up
for a day, and then be mad
again.  Now, I don't
remember the last time we
were angry with each other.

Allan’s provided great insight in to the
“why’s” of how I communicate and helped
me find ways represent myself and
discern my clients needs & wants even
better and how to diffuse what could be a
potentially volatile situation.

The information that Allan has been able
to provide has helped me realize how my
own emotions and personality impact
each conversation I have with my clients
and how I need to “check” myself first to
make sure that I am responding to a
client in a way that is professional and not
personal.

I can enthusiastically recommend
participating in Allan Flood's Business
Group sessions.  Through this process I
have learned that it is not enough to just
recognize emotions and feelings but
rather we must understand which "needs"
are not being met that have prompted
these feelings. Learning this has taken
my communication to a new level both in
business and in my personal life.   As a
consequence, I am a much better
listener, ask more questions, and
connect more easily and quickly. Allan
has an excellent teaching manner in
which group trust and cohesiveness is
built from the onset.
